The
44 South Shipping Co .Ltd .would like to make known that they will be
commencing a service to the Chatham Islands early May 09.The vessel
Baldur, is a 41 mtr converted fishing trawler, capable of
carrying
approx 1200 stock units, palletized cargo, break bulk and packages up
to two ton on the top deck, plus some fuel. Passengers by enquiry.
This service will initially run between Chathams and Napier. Frequency
will depend on inward cargo.
Aims
and Objectives
- To
operate an efficient, reliable & sustainable shipping line,
between the Chatham Islands and New Zealand.
- To
keep costs down and encourage a reliable service.
- To
formulate a 5 year plan to grow the shipping line with growth on the
island.
- For
the island to have faith in a regular shipping line, so they can
increase production, knowing that their exports will have market
access.
Victor
